What is JumpHire?
JumpHire’s mission is to eliminate barriers to employment for those without college degrees. We provide access to the training, support, and connections necessary to find employment in careers that offer family-sustaining wages. JumpHire accomplishes this by partnering with:
- Employers looking to diversify their workforce
- Industry-specific training programs seeking highly motivated candidates
- Grassroots organizations looking to strengthen their community through employment opportunities
- Non-profit organizations interested in improving the health and wealth of Chicago’s South and West Side communities
Chicago’s Job Gains and Losses
Over the last decade, the city of Chicago has seen a 4% decrease in available jobs. Many of the communities that have seen the largest decreases in jobs are people of color, and areas that already face economic challenges.
Wraparound Services
To minimize those barriers to success, we provide a holistic system of supportive services
Community Programming
The center offers community programming and events for high school students and young adults interested in educational and fun hobbies
Partner Resources
We have partnerships with several local and nationally recognized nonprofits to provide supplementary support
Programs
Career training and support modules (9 months or less) that are designed to connect people with careers that include family-sustaining wages and benefits. This includes:
- Identifying motivated participants through our outreach efforts and partnerships with existing training programs.
- Collaborating with employers to develop skill-specific training programs that lead to in-demand career opportunities with the employer partner.
Locations
Our facility is in East Garfield Park on Chicago’s West Side, with a South Side location coming soon.
