Non-profit organizations interested in improving the health and wealth of Chicago’s South and West Side communities
In February, Chicago's unemployment rate saw a notable decline of 0.2 percentage points, reaching 4.4%. This decrease, though modest, is significant in highlighting the city's ongoing struggle to recover from the pandemic and the loss of a substantial number of local jobs. While Chicago's unemployment rate remains one of the highest in the nation, the slight improvement since February 2022 indicates progress. Efforts are being made to address the economic challenges in Chicago, but there is still work ahead for a more robust recovery.
